It's so close I can SMELL it! SPRING IS IN THE AIR! On the Sunshine Coast we really have no reason to complain - it has been the most mild of winters and yet still - the anticipation of Spring abounds. There's just something about knowing that the flowers will begin to bloom, the mercury will begin to rise, the ocean temperature will begin to climb and everything will feel new and fresh and shiny again. Yep I'm a spring girl!
So to celebrate spring being just around the corner, I will throwing my gorgeous round towel in my hand bag and there it will stay for the remainder of the season because I plan to rock it on a near-daily basis in celebration and appreciation of the beautiful great-outdoors which in my opinion is best enjoyed in the spring time.
Here are my top 5 Ways to Rock a Round Towel this season
1. Morning meditations
Ok I'm going to start by aiming high! I would LOVE this spring to try and take some time out every week just to be. To have time to contemplate, meditate, pray, relax. Actual alone time. It doesn't have to be for long but I think a good cobweb cleaning of mind is in order this spring. So I'll be packing my roundie and heading somewhere with a view for my morning meditations. Who is with me?!?! On a different day at a different location of course! ;-)
2. Mountain Marvelling
On the Sunshine Coast we are spoilt for choice when it comes to mountains. On my back doorstep is the stunning Mount Coolum, then there are the Glasshouse Mountains, Tinbeerwah, Ninderry and Mount Cooroora just to name a few. In my opinion Spring is the best time of year to be out climbing - it's not too hot and the days are often crystal clear meaning you are rewarded for your efforts with superb views. The best thing about packing your roundie for the climb? It's super-lightweight cotton so won't take up too much room in your backpack so you can easily chuck it in for the climb and ensure you have an Instagram-worthy shot at the summit.
3. Picnic Perfection
There is no better way to enjoy spring than to get out and about for a picnic. Whether by the beach or in a bush setting, again on the Sunshine Coast we are spoilt for choice. So pack your sandwiches, or better yet some cheese and wine, throw your round towel in and picnic in style.
4. Cosy cotton
Some people may swim year-round in Queensland but I am not one of them. I eagerly await the return of spring and the gradual increase of the water temperatures before I feel safe enough do my first dive into the ocean for the season. While the water is still a bit crisp, a round towel is the perfect beach companion - light enough to thrown in your beach bag and stay firmly put for the remainder of the year, and perfectly practical - the 100% cotton material dries quickly so you don't have to go a day without your beach buddy.
5. Beach babe
Ok yes it's practical, yes you can use it as a rug or a picnic blanket or a towel but at the end of the day, what if you just want to look like a total babe while you're sunning yourself at the beach with a good book? Bingo. Excuse me while I flick my gorgeous towel out and elegantly position myself perfectly centre. Sunnies on, magazine out. Working. It. Oh and did I mention it's Fairtrade certified, 100% cotton, hand block-printed in India?
