The beautiful art of planning

Aimee Pearce

There's something beautiful about planning. Especially when it comes to travel. It's the way that it builds anticipation and excitement. Those hours spent exploring accommodation options and Google images of remote beaches. It gives you some evening inspiration to explore rather than zoning out in front of Netflix for countless hours.

I've been in a bit of a (well-documented) travel drought. You know the story well - young children, home renovations, it's just been a season of busyness sans-travel. So last week we booked a trip to Bali next year. Yeeeeeeoooooowwwwwww!!!!! I know it's just Bali, and I know I've been there before. But it's been years, and I'm travel-deprived, hence I am ridiculously (perhaps a little over-the-top) excited.

So the trip may be about nine months away, but I am actually really looking forward to the process of having something to look forward to. And plan. And daydream about. So who wants to help my daydreaming process? I need some tips [read: distractions to get me through the long weeks]! My prerequisites are:

  • Perhaps three different locations in Bali and/or Lombok
  • Not horrendously touristy
  • Child-friendly
  • Good swimming options

Ready....go!!! And thanks in advance and happy travels to me ;-)
